SPONSOR:  CANADIAN UNION ADVANTAGE BENEFIT PROGRAM/UNION SAVINGS


ELIGIBILITY: 
To be eligible to enter this contest, a person must, during the Contest Period, be a member in good standing of a union affiliated with Union Savings (“Entrants”).  Union Savings reserves the right to require proof of membership prior to awarding the prize. Employees of Union Savings or their commercial partners, employees or agents, their respective advertising or promotional agencies, the independent contest organization or a member of any such employee’s immediate family (regardless of where they live) or household (whether related to the employee or not) are ineligible to enter the contest.  In these Contest Rules, “immediate family” includes mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters and/or spouse.

THE CONTEST IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW, and is subject to all applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws.
Contest is open to persons under the age of 18; however those who are under 18 years of age require a guardian’s consent.

Binding Contest Rules
By entering the Contest, entrants agree to be bound by the Contest's official rules (Rules). All decisions of the Sponsor and affiliate judges, including without limitation the eligibility of entries, are final and binding.

HOW TO ENTER:
The contest is offered electronically via the Internet. To enter the contest visit www.unionsavings.ca and follow the link to the contest website.

There is a limit of one (1) email per entry.  As such, entrants will be disqualified if they are using multiple email addresses or email lists, such as spam to obtain additional entries.

The Contest Period; Monday September 2, 2024 12:00:00 AM EST to Monday September 30, 2024 11:59:59 PM PST.
All entries must be received before 11:59:59 PM PST Monday September 30, 2024. The contest starts Monday September 2, 2024  12:00:00 AM EST and ends at 11:59:59 PM PST Monday September 30, 2024, the Contest Closing Date (the overall period being known as the “Contest Period”). For the purposes of this contest a week will be classified as Monday at 12:00:00 AM EST to Friday 11:59:59 PM PST.

PRIZES:
There are eleven (11) prizes to be won in the contest. Entrants are eligible for one (1) prize.

One (1) Grand Prize of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00).
One (1) Prize of a Choose a Trip or Cash. Choose a Trip worth up to ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) OR choose a ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) cash prize. Trip destination is a choice to Turks and Caicos (or similar) or Disney Resort (or similar) including: airfare from a Canadian airport.
One (1) Groceries for a year prize. Value of four thousand dollars ($4,000.00).
One (1) Gas or transit for a year prize. Value of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00).
One (1) Cash prize of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00).
Two (2) Cash prizes of five hundred dollars ($500.00).
Four (4) Cash prizes of two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00).

Only the listed prize(s) will be awarded and no substitutions, cash equivalents or exemptions will be made, it being understood and agreed, however, that the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a different prize of equal or greater value if in the opinion of the Sponsor it becomes necessary. Other restrictions may apply. All provincial, federal and local taxes not included are the responsibility of the prize-winner.

If a winner is unwilling or unable to accept any of the prizes in the contest as described in these rules, an alternate winner may be selected. The depiction of the prize in any advertising or promotional materials may not be identical to the one awarded to the Prize Winner. The Prize Winner is solely responsible for all expenses not specifically set forth herein. No prize may be transferred or assigned except by the Independent Contest Judging Organization or as otherwise indicated herein.

AWARDING OF PRIZES:

PRIZES:
A random selection will be made after all entries have been collected, at approximately 12:00 p.m.  EST on Wednesday October 2, 2024, from among all eligible entries received. There are eleven (11)  prizes available to be won. The potential winner(s) will be contacted by phone or email and will have 72 hrs to reply, if a potential Winner does not respond within 72 hrs, their entry will be forfeited, and a new potential Winner will be selected.

GRAND PRIZE: A random selection will be made on the Contest Closing Date after all entries have been collected, at approximately 12:01:00 AM PST on Wednesday October 2, 2024, from among all eligible entries received. There is one (1) Grand Prize of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) available to be won. The potential winner will be contacted by phone or email on Monday October 7, 2024 and will have one (1) week to reply.  If a potential Winner does not respond within one (1) week, their entry will be forfeited and a new Winner will be selected.

TRIP OR CASH PRIZE: A random selection will be made after all entries have been collected, at approximately 12:01:00 AM PST on Wednesday October 2, 2024, from among all eligible entries received. There is one (1) Trip or Cash Prize available to be won.The potential winner of the Trip or Cash Prize will choose to receive the Trip to Turks and Caicos or Disney Resort (or similar) at a value of up to ten thousand dollars ($10,000) or choose a cash prize of the value of the trip of ten thousand dollars ($10,000). The potential winner will be contacted by phone or email on Monday October 7, 2024 and will have one (1) week to reply.  If a potential Winner does not respond within one (1) week, their entry will be forfeited and a new Winner will be selected. The winner will receive a roundtrip flight for two (2) people from a Canadian airport, closest to the winner’s residence.

The Trip or Cash Prize must be booked no later than December 01, 2024 and must travel before October 30, 2025, after which time the prize will expire. Seats are subject to availability and economy space. No changes to destinations, names, travel dates etc., will be accepted.

The Trip or Cash Prize is not valid for any flights departing after such date and extensions to the expiry date are not permitted. Winner and his/her designated guest(s) must travel on the same itinerary in both directions. Winner and his/her guest are responsible for ground transportation (incl. transfers to hotel) to and from the gateway airport and all other expenses not stated as included herein. Changes to flights and or passenger names are not accepted, once the booking has been confirmed. Taxes, fees and applicable surcharges are included and will be paid by the sponsor. Transportation is subject to availability, government restrictions and regulations, airline, airport or other transportation restrictions and regulations. Seasonal service and schedule will apply; certain travel dates may not be available. Tickets are subject to certain terms and conditions as specified by issuers. The prize participants must travel together in economy seats on the same itinerary and are responsible for ensuring they have all necessary travel documents (e.g., valid passport, visas etc.). Sponsor Entities are not responsible in the event any Prize Participant is refused boarding at any time by the airline or airport security. Any unused portion of the prize will be forfeited. Each prize participant must be of age of legal majority in his/her jurisdiction of residence, unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The Sponsor is responsible for applicable airfare taxes, fees and surcharges associated with the round-trip flight for two. The winner is fully responsible for all other applicable federal, provincial, and municipal taxes (including income and withholding taxes). Any and all additional costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided including but not limited to health insurance, transportation costs (including carry on, checked baggage fees and excess baggage fees), onboard food and beverage, pre-seat selection, seat upgrades, in-flight entertainment, gratuities and other expenses incurred by the winner (and any guests) in claiming, accepting and/or using the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.

The decisions of the contest judging organization in all matters related to the selection of winners in this contest, including without limitation the selection process to be employed, will be final. A Prize contestant whose entry is so selected and contacted must, in order to become a winner, correctly answer, unaided, a mathematical skill-testing question, complete, sign and return the Declaration and Release form described below within five (5) days from the time it was supplied to the winner, and comply with all of the other Contest rules. Failure to return the Declaration and Release form or correctly answer the skill-testing question in the time noted, will result in disqualification of the entrant and an alternate Prize-winner will be selected from the eligible entrants. If a winner cannot be declared after the initial one (1) entry and one (1) backup entry has been contacted, the Contest “Sponsor” or independent contest judging organization reserves the right to deem that particular prize as un-awarded.  The skill-testing question will be administered on the Declaration & Release form. 

Please allow up to four (4) weeks from the date of being declared a winner for the delivery of your prize.
Odds of being selected as a winner are dependent on the total number of eligible entries received during the contest period.

LIMITS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
By accepting a Prize, each winner acknowledges that the Sponsors (Contest Organizers, any company, corporation, trust or other legal entity controlled by or affiliated with them, their advertising and promotional agencies, their employees, agents and representatives and any contest prizing partners) are not liable to him/her or to his/her heirs and assigns for death, personal injury, property damage, or any other loss that may occur: 1) due to any act or omission of the Sponsor or Independent Contest Judging Organization with respect to the prize, or of any part or parts thereof, or 2) by reason of any other event over which the Sponsor or the Independent Contest Judging Organization have no control.

SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS:
This Contest is not managed or sponsored by Facebook, X (Formerly Twitter), Instagram or Linkedin. Any question, comment or complaint regarding the Contest must be directed to the Contest Organizers and not to any social media platform.

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin and all its affiliates, directors, officers, agents and employees are not liable for any claims arising out of or in connection with the organization of this Contest. However, by participating in this Contest, each participant agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of use, contracts, other policies and/or guidelines governing Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Linkedin and releases the Contest Organizers, any company, corporation, trust or other legal entity controlled by or affiliated with them, their advertising and promotional agencies, their employees, agents and representatives from and against any damage that could arise from the use of this platform.

GENERAL:
By entering this contest, contestants agree to abide by these Contest Rules and the decision of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of the contest, which is final.
a)  Potential winners of any prize in the “UNION SAVINGS 35TH ANNIVERSARY GIVEAWAY” contest will be required to complete and return a Declaration and Release form prior to receiving any prize and prior to being declared an official winner.  The potential winner must have signed the Sponsors Declaration and Release form confirming compliance, which includes agreement that he/she;

i. is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address (if applicable) associated with the selected entry, was the person who submitted the selected entry, was eligible to enter the Contest and has complied with all of the Contest Rules; and

ii. accepts the prize as awarded, without substitution, and releases the Sponsor and/or their affiliated, associated and related companies, advertising, promotional agencies, the Judge, the independent Contest Judging Organization and their respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns from any liability in connection with the prize, or any use of the prize or this contest, as set forth in the Declaration and Release form.

iii. In the case an awarded Prize, confirms that they have not used any illegal methods in order to increase their entries into the contest and releases the Sponsor and their affiliates from any liability in connection with the prize, or any use of the prize or this contest, as set forth in the Declaration and Release form.

b) By entering this contest, each prize-winner, consents to the use of his/her name and their beneficiary, address (city and province), and likeness without further remuneration, in connection with any publicity carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsor.

c) The Sponsor will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete or destroyed entries. The Sponsor does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical errors, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone lines. Entry material/data that have been tampered with or altered are void.

d) The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, subject to approval of the Régie  des alcools, des courses et des jeux in Quebec, to cancel or suspend this contest should a virus, bug, printing error or other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Sponsor reserves the right, subject to approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (“Régie), to terminate this contest or to amend these contest rules at any time without notice if any factor interferes with the proper conduct of the contest as contemplated by these Rules. The Sponsor may modify, clarify and/or amend these Rules & Regulations at any time by posting notice to that effect on www.unionsavings.ca 

e) The Sponsor is not liable for any problems, errors, or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the contest, including but not limited to any damage to an entrant’s computer system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of the entrant’s participation in this contest. 

f) All entries become the property of the Sponsor and none will be returned. No correspondence or communication will be entered into except, possibly, with the selected entrants. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. The contest and the contest rules shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada and the winner’s province of residence. 

g) Persons tampering with or abusing any entry mechanisms or policies will be disqualified. All entries in this contest will be automatically disqualified without notice or recourse if an entrant promotes this contest through unsolicited commercial e-mail or multiple postings. 

h) By submitting an entry, that entrant agrees to the contest rules including all conditions stated therein. The Sponsor and those associated with the Sponsor will bear no legal liability, expressed or implied, regarding the use of winning Submissions by the Sponsor and THE SPONSOR SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY A WINNER IN THE EVENT IT IS SUBSEQUENTLY DISCOVERED THAT THE WINNER HAS DEPARTED FROM OR NOT FULLY COMPLIED WITH ANY OF THE CONTEST RULES.

i) Quebec residents please note: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

j) We respect your privacy. All information collected is for contest and research purposes only unless otherwise specified and will remain the property of the Sponsor. No e-mail addresses or personal information collected will be shared, in any way, with any other parties.
