Official Rules & Regulations 

SPONSOR:  CANADIAN UNION ADVANTAGE BENEFIT PROGRAM   

ELIGIBILITY:  To be eligible to enter this contest, a person must, during the Contest Period, be a member in good standing of a union affiliated with Union Savings (“Entrants”).  Union Savings reserves the right to require proof of membership prior to awarding the prize. Employees of Union Savings or their commercial partners, employees or agents, their respective advertising or promotional agencies, the independent contest organization or a member of any such employee’s immediate family (regardless of where they live) or household (whether related to the employee or not) are ineligible to enter the contest.  In these Contest Rules, “immediate family” includes mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters and/or spouse.   

THE CONTEST IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW, and is subject to all applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws.   Contest is open to persons under the age of 18; however those who are under 18 years of age require a guardians consent.   Binding Contest Rules By entering the Contest, entrants agree to be bound by the Contest's official rules (Rules). All decisions of the Sponsor and affiliate judges, including without limitation the eligibility of entries, are final and binding.   

HOW TO ENTER:   The contest is offered electronically via the Internet. To enter the contest visit www.unionsavings.ca and follow the link.   There is a limit of one (1) email per entry.  As such, entrants will be disqualified if they are using multiple email addresses or email lists, such as spam to obtain additional entries.   Should you have any questions or concerns in relation to the contest, please contact us at win with unionsavings@unionsavings.ca   By entering the contest you are giving Union Savings consent to receive promotional emails.  You may unsubscribe to promotional emails at any time.         

The Contest Period; Monday November 28 10:00:00 AM EST to Monday December 12, 2022 11:59:59 PM PST.   All entries must be received before 11:59:59 PM PST Monday December 12, 2022 at 11:59:59 PM PST. The contest starts Monday November 28 10:00:00 AM EST and ends at 11:59:59 PM PST Monday December 12, 2022. , the Contest Closing Date (the overall period being known as the “Contest Period”). For the purposes of this contest a week will be classified as Monday at 12:00:00 AM EST to Friday 11:59:59 PM PST.   

PRIZES: Only the listed prize(s) will be awarded and no substitutions, cash equivalents or exemptions will be made, it being understood and agreed, however, that the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a different prize of equal or greater value if in the opinion of the Sponsor it becomes necessary. Other restrictions may apply. All provincial, federal and local taxes not included are the responsibility of the prize-winner.   Winners must claim the prize by February 12, 2023 11:59:59 PM PAST. If a winner is unwilling or unable to accept any of the prizes in the contest as described in these rules, an alternate winner may be selected. The depiction of the prize in any advertising or promotional materials may not be identical to the one awarded to the Prize Winner. The Prize Winner is solely responsible for all expenses not specifically set forth herein. No prize may be transferred or assigned except by the Independent Contest Judging Organization or as otherwise indicated herein.                

AWARDING OF PRIZES:   

PRIZES: A random selection will be made by an independent judging organization in Toronto, ON, after all entries have been collected, at approximately 12:00 p.m.  EST from among all eligible entries received. The potential winner(s) will be contacted by phone or email and will have 48 hrs to reply, if a potential Winner does not respond within 48 hrs, their entry will be forfeited and a new potential Winner will be selected. The decisions of the contest judging organization in all matters related to the selection of  winners in this contest, including without limitation the selection process to be employed, will be final. A Prize contestant whose entry is so selected and contacted must, in order to become a winner, correctly answer, unaided, a mathematical skill-testing question, complete, sign and return the Declaration and Release form described below within five (5) days from the time it   was supplied to the winner, and comply with all of the other Contest rules. Failure to return the Declaration and Release form or correctly answer the skill-testing question in the time noted, will result in disqualification of the entrant and an alternate Prize-winner will be selected from the eligible entrants. If a winner cannot be declared after the initial one (1) entry and one (1) backup entry has been contacted, the Contest “Sponsor” or independent contest judging organization reserves the right to deem that particular prize as un-awarded.  The skill-testing question will be administered on the Declaration & Release form.   Please allow four (4) weeks from the date of being declared a winner for the delivery of your prize.   

LIMITS OF RESPONSIBILITY:   By accepting a Prize, each winner acknowledges that the Sponsors (Contest Organizers, any company, corporation, trust or other legal entity controlled by or affiliated with them, their advertising and promotional agencies, their employees, agents and representatives and any contest prizing partners) are not liable to him/her or to his/her heirs and assigns for death, personal injury, property damage, or any other loss that may occur: 1) due to any act or omission of the Sponsor or Independent Contest Judging Organization with respect to the prize, or of any part or parts thereof, or 2) by reason of any other event over which the Sponsor or the Independent Contest Judging Organization have no control.  

SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS:   This Contest is not managed or sponsored by Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google +, Pinterest or LinkedIn. Any question, comment or complaint regarding the Contest must be directed to the Contest Organizers and not to any social media platform. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google +, Pinterest or LinkedIn and all its affiliates, directors, officers, agents and employees are not liable for any claims arising out of or in connection with the organization of this Contest. However, by participating in this Contest, each participant agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of use, contracts, other policies and/or guidelines governing Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google +, Pinterest or LinkedIn and releases the Contest Organizers, any company, corporation, trust or other legal entity controlled by or affiliated with them, their advertising and promotional agencies, their employees, agents and representatives from and against any damage that could arise from the use of this platform.  

GENERAL:   By entering this contest, contestants agree to abide by these Contest Rules and the decision of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of the contest, which is final.   a)  Potential winners of any prize in the “UNION SAVINGS HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY” contest will be required to complete and return a Declaration and Release form prior to receiving any prize and prior to being declared an official winner.  The potential winner must have signed the Sponsors Declaration and Release form confirming compliance, which includes agreement that he/she; i.      is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address (if applicable) associated with the selected entry, was the person who submitted the selected entry, was eligible to enter the Contest and has complied with all of the Contest Rules; and ii.     accepts the prize as awarded, without substitution, and releases the Sponsor and/or their affiliated, associated and related companies, advertising, promotional agencies, the Judge, the independent Contest Judging Organization and their respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns from any liability in connection with the prize, or any use of the prize or this contest, as set forth in the Declaration and Release form. iii.    In the case an awarded Prize, confirms that they have not used any illegal methods in order to increase their entries into the contest and releases the Sponsor and their affiliates from any liability in connection with the prize, or any use of the prize or this contest, as set forth in the Declaration and Release form.   b)  By entering this contest, each prize-winner, consents to the use of his/her name and their beneficiary, address (city and province), and likeness without further remuneration, in connection with any publicity carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsor.     c)  The Sponsor will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete or destroyed entries. The Sponsor does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical errors, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone lines. Entry material/data that have been tampered with or altered are void.   d)  The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, subject to approval of the Régie  des alcools, des courses et des jeux in Quebec, to cancel or suspend this contest should a virus, bug, printing error or other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Sponsor reserves the right, subject to approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (“Régie), to terminate this contest or to amend these contest rules at any time without notice if any factor interferes with the proper conduct of the contest as contemplated by these Rules. The Sponsor may modify, clarify and/or amend these Rules & Regulations at any time by posting notice to that effect on www.unionsavings.com  and www.winwithunuionsavings.ca.   e)  The Sponsor is not liable for any problems, errors, or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the contest, including but not limited to any damage to an entrant’s computer system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of the entrant’s participation in this contest.   f)   All entries become the property of the Sponsor and none will be returned.  No correspondence or communication will be entered into except, possibly, with the selected entrants. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws.  The contest and the contest rules shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada and the winner’s province of residence.   g)  Persons tampering with or abusing any entry mechanisms or policies will be disqualified. All entries in this contest will be automatically disqualified without notice or recourse if an entrant promotes this contest through unsolicited commercial e-mail or multiple postings.   h)  By submitting an entry, that entrant agrees to the contest rules including all conditions stated therein. The Sponsor and those associated with the Sponsor will bear no legal liability, expressed or implied, regarding the use of winning Submissions by the Sponsor and THE SPONSOR SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY A WINNER IN THE EVENT IT IS SUBSEQUENTLY DISCOVERED THAT THE WINNER HAS DEPARTED FROM OR NOT FULLY COMPLIED WITH ANY OF THE CONTEST RULES.   i)    Quebec residents please note: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.   j)    We respect your privacy. All information collected is for contest and research purposes only unless otherwise specified and will remain the property of the Sponsor. No e-mail addresses or personal information collected will be shared, in any way, with any other parties.
